Smooth texture, unclog pores and boost radiance with professional chemical exfoliators and at-home peels.

Frequently asked questions

Which exfoliant should I start with?

Start with AHA Renewal Serum two or three nights a week — a leave-on lactic and glycolic serum that smooths texture without the grit of a scrub. If you prefer a gentle daily option, Bright & Clear Solution swipes on with salicylic and lactic acids to keep pores clear. Save the physical MicroDerm Polish for one or two mornings a week when you want instant smoothness.

How often should I exfoliate, and can I use more than one?

Chemical exfoliants like NeoStrata Glycolic Renewal Smoothing Lotion or Medik8 Sleep Glycolic go on two to three evenings a week, never every night when you first begin. Don't stack a scrub and an acid on the same night — alternate MicroDerm Polish with your acid evenings. Build up slowly and drop the frequency if skin feels tight.

What's the difference between glycolic, lactic and salicylic exfoliants?

Glycolic acid, in Jan Marini Bioclear and NeoStrata Glycolic Renewal, is the smallest AHA and resurfaces dull, uneven skin. Lactic acid, in AHA Renewal Serum, exfoliates while holding onto moisture, so it suits drier skin. Salicylic acid, in Bright & Clear Solution, is oil-soluble and decongests blemish-prone pores from the inside.

Is it safe to exfoliate if I use retinol or spend time in the sun?

Keep acids and retinol on separate nights to avoid over-exfoliating — Medik8 Sleep Glycolic one night, your retinoid the next. Exfoliating acids make skin more sensitive to daylight, so a daily SPF 30 or higher is non-negotiable while you use them. If you're pregnant, stay with lactic or glycolic AHAs and pause any retinol. Do you have anything to exfoliate the body too?

Yes — Jan Marini Bioglycolic Body Scrub uses glycolic acid to smooth rough arms, legs and the keratin bumps a face exfoliant won't reach. Use it two or three times a week in the shower. Order before 2pm and we'll dispatch it the same day.

How to choose an exfoliator

AHAs (glycolic, lactic) resurface dry and ageing skin; BHA (salicylic) clears oily, congested skin; PHAs and enzymes suit sensitive skin. Skintique stocks exfoliators from Jan Marini, NeoStrata, Obagi and ESDerma MD — build up slowly, a few nights a week, and always wear SPF the next morning.
