Meadowfoam estolide is a conditioning agent derived from meadowfoam seed oil, a plant oil native to Oregon. It is chemically modified through esterification—a process that creates a stable, lightweight oil with enhanced conditioning properties.In skincare and haircare formulations, meadowfoam estolide functions as an emollient and skin conditioning agent. It works to coat and soften the skin surface, helping to improve texture and suppleness without leaving a heavy residue.

Meadowfoam estolide works by forming a protective, occlusive layer on the skin's surface.
