What Is Menthol?

Menthol is an organic compound derived from mint oils that provides a distinctive cooling sensation when applied to skin. It activates cold-sensitive receptors, creating a refreshing, invigorating effect without actually lowering skin temperature.

Beyond its sensory benefits, menthol has mild analgesic and anti-itch properties. However, it can be irritating for sensitive skin and should be used in appropriate concentrations.
