Additionally, oleuropein and hydroxytyrosol showed synergistic effects when combined, with improved inhibition of elastase compared to either ingredient alone.
However, most evidence to date comes from laboratory studies rather than clinical trials on human skin. The concentrations used in research are often higher than those in typical skincare products, so direct translation to consumer formulations requires further investigation. More human studies are needed to confirm efficacy at concentrations used in cosmetics.
