Oryza sativa hull extract is derived from the outer husk of rice grains. The extract contains polysaccharides and other plant compounds that have mild humectant properties—meaning they attract and bind water to the skin's surface.Rice hull extract is used in skincare formulations primarily for its moisturising function. Rice hull extract works as a humectant.
