Palm kernel/coco glucoside molecules have a dual nature—one end is attracted to oil and dirt, whilst the other attracts water. When applied to damp skin, they encircle and lift away sebum, makeup and environmental pollutants, allowing them to be rinsed away with water. This mechanism is why it's classified as a surfactant.Beyond cleansing, these ingredients also deposit a thin conditioning film on the skin surface. This film helps to reduce water loss and leaves skin feeling more comfortable, rather than the squeaky-clean (and often dehydrating) sensation caused by stronger surfactants.

Palm kernel/coco glucoside is typically found in rinse-off products like facial cleansers, micellar waters and gentle body washes. Use as directed on the product label—usually by applying to damp skin, massaging gently, and rinsing thoroughly with water. Because it is a mild surfactant, it can be used twice daily without concern for most people, though those with very sensitive or compromised skin barriers may prefer once-daily use.

Generally well-tolerated and regarded as safe for cosmetic use across all skin types. Rare cases of contact sensitivity have been reported, as with any ingredient; discontinue use if irritation develops.
