What Is Polyquaternium-89?

Polyquaternium-89 is a polymeric quaternary ammonium salt prepared by the reaction of t-butyl acrylate, vinyl pyrolidone, dimethylaminopropyl methacrylamide, methacrylic acid and ethyldimethyl[2-[(2-methyl-1-oxoallyl)oxy]ammonium ethyl sulfate, neutralized with orthophosphoric acid.

Its declared cosmetic function is film forming.
