What Is Rayon?
Rayon (INCI: RAYON) is a cosmetic ingredient listed in the EU CosIng inventory. Cellulose, regenerated. The product is obtained by treating cellulose with caustic soda, reacting this with carbon disulfide, dissolving this in a dilute alkali solution and extruding into an acid to form a continuous viscose tube.
Its declared cosmetic functions are bulking and viscosity controlling.
