Royal Jelly Water

Royal jelly is a creamy, yellowish-white substance secreted by worker bees. It is composed primarily of water (50–56%), alongside proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, minerals, and vitamins. In skincare, it is typically used in the form of royal jelly water — an extract or infusion that concentrates the ingredient's soluble compounds.The ingredient functions as a humectant, meaning it draws moisture into the skin. It also contains bioactive compounds such as 10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid (10-HDA) and polyphenols, which have shown antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties in laboratory studies.

Royal jelly water works primarily as a humectant by binding water molecules and drawing them into the outer layers of the skin. This increases hydration and can plump the skin temporarily, which may soften the appearance of fine lines.The ingredient also contains compounds with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. These bioactive molecules are thought to neutralise free radicals and reduce inflammatory responses in the skin, potentially supporting overall skin resilience and comfort.

Royal jelly water is typically found in serums, essences, and hydrating creams. It works well when applied to damp skin, as the moisture helps the humectant function more effectively.
