Salicornia herbacea callus culture extract is derived from the callus (undifferentiated plant tissue) of salicornia, a halophytic plant that grows in salt-rich environments. Rather than using the whole plant, manufacturers culture plant cells in controlled laboratory conditions to produce this extract, which contains compounds typical of the salicornia plant.In skincare and haircare formulations, this extract functions primarily as an emollient and conditioning agent, helping to soften and smooth the skin and hair surface.
