Tapioca Starch

Tapioca starch is a polysaccharide extracted from cassava root. In skincare formulations, it functions primarily as a viscosity controller—a substance that adjusts the thickness and texture of creams, lotions and serums without adding active ingredients.It belongs to a class of ingredients called thickening agents or rheology modifiers. These work by absorbing water and creating a more stable, pleasant texture that's easier to apply and helps keep other ingredients evenly distributed throughout the product.
