What Is Turmeric Root Extract?

Turmeric root extract comes from Curcuma longa, the golden spice used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine. Its active compound, curcumin, is one of natures most potent anti-inflammatories.

Curcumin inhibits multiple inflammatory pathways and provides significant antioxidant protection. It also has antimicrobial properties beneficial for acne-prone skin.

Modern skincare formulations use stabilised or modified curcumin to deliver its benefits without the intense yellow staining of raw turmeric.
