What Is Holy Herb Extract?
Holy herb (Eriodictyon californicum), also known as yerba santa, is a plant native to California that has been used by indigenous peoples for its medicinal properties. The extract has notable anti-inflammatory and protective qualities.
The plant contains flavonoids including homoeriodictyol and eriodictyol that provide antioxidant protection. These compounds also have a pleasant taste-modifying effect, which is why the plant is called holy herb.
In skincare, the extract helps soothe irritation and protect against environmental damage.
