Palmitoyl isoleucine is a lipophilic amino acid derivative created by bonding the amino acid isoleucine with palmitic acid, a naturally occurring fatty acid. This combination allows the ingredient to penetrate and integrate into the skin's lipid matrix more effectively than isoleucine alone.In skincare formulations, palmitoyl isoleucine functions primarily as a skin protectant, working to support and strengthen the skin's natural barrier.
