Potassium methoxysalicylate (also known as potassium 4-methoxysalicylate or 4MSK) is a synthetic skin-lightening ingredient approved in Japan as an active quasi-drug since 2003. It is derived from salicylic acid chemistry and has been formulated into skincare products for over two decades.

How It Works
