What Is Pumpkin Enzymes?
Pumpkin enzymes are proteolytic enzymes derived from the flesh of pumpkins (Cucurbita pepo). These enzymes gently dissolve the proteins holding dead skin cells together, facilitating natural exfoliation.
Pumpkin is particularly rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, and zinc, which provide additional benefits during the exfoliation process. The fruit acids present also contribute to the brightening effect.
These enzymes are gentle enough for sensitive skin and provide effective exfoliation without the potential irritation of chemical acids.
