What Is Polylysine?
Epsilon-polylysine is a naturally occurring antimicrobial peptide produced by fermentation of Streptomyces albulus. It has been used in food preservation and is gaining popularity in skincare.
The peptide provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacteria, yeast, and fungi. It can serve as both an active ingredient and a natural preservative.
Polylysine is gentle enough for use on skin while providing effective protection against microorganisms.
