Rather than directly inhibiting the enzyme responsible for melanin synthesis, this ingredient appears to work by interfering with how melanin is transferred between skin cells, potentially leading to a more even complexion and reduced appearance of dark spots.

How It Works

Melanin production and distribution involves several steps. Melanosomes (packages of pigment) are created in melanocytes and then transferred to keratinocytes (the outer skin cells) to give skin its colour.
