What Is Rice Sh-Oligopeptide-1?

Rice sh-oligopeptide-1 is a synthetic peptide derived from, surprise, rice. It is designed to mimic the actions of certain growth factors in skin with the hopes of producing anti-aging and rejuvenating effects.

At the time of this writing, there is a lack of independent research on rice sh-oligopeptide-1, which makes it challenging to evaluate. Similarly, we had difficulty finding cosmetic supplier studies for this ingredient, and at the time of this writing, only a handful of skin care products utilize rice sh-oligopeptide-1.

Generally speaking, peptides can be incredibly beneficial skin care ingredients, but the efficacy and benefits of each individual peptide varies greatly. Until studies are completed to fully understand its effects on human skin, we’re settling on AVERAGE rating for rice sh-oligopeptide-1.

The Personal Care Products Council categorizes rice sh-oligopeptide-1 as a skin-conditioning agent.
