A-LUMINATE has a lightweight, fast-absorbing texture and is designed for full-face use rather than spot treatment, applied twice daily and layered under moisturiser and sunscreen; Alastin positions it as going on before a retinoid step in an evening routine. Discoloration Defense is also a full-face, twice-daily product, applied as 3–5 drops; SkinCeuticals' own directions place it after a vitamin C serum and before sunscreen in the morning, and note that its kojic acid content means the formula itself may shift towards an amber or light brown colour over time — a normal characteristic of the ingredient, not a sign the product has gone off.
