iS Clinical Pure Radiance Collection Review
The Verdict
A genuinely complete brightening system rather than a single product with a brightening claim bolted on. The Alpha-Arbutin, Kojic Acid and Willow Bark Extract combination across cleanser, treatment and SPF steps is coherent and hydroquinone-free, which suits sensitive skin better than harsher alternatives. It asks for commitment to all four steps and consistent SPF to show results, so it's best suited to someone ready to run the full routine rather than dip in and out of it.
iS Clinical Pure Radiance Collection | Brightening Skincare Kit
£266.00
The iS Clinical Pure Radiance Collection bundles four full-size products — Cleansing Complex, Brightening Complex, Brightening Serum and Eclipse SPF 50+ — into one hydroquinone-free brightening routine. iS Clinical builds the kit around Alpha-Arbutin, Kojic Acid, Willow Bark Extract and Norwegian Kelp Extract, working from cleanse through to SPF so each step supports the last, rather than adding one brightening serum to an otherwise unrelated routine.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, please contact our team for advice before use. This applies across the whole kit: several of the individual steps combine botanical acids with brightening actives, and that's worth checking with a professional about rather than assuming any one product in the set is fine on its own.
What's in the kit
- Cleansing Complex — a gel cleanser that removes makeup and impurities without stripping the skin, setting up the rest of the routine.
- Brightening Complex — a richer, cream-based step built on Alpha-Arbutin and Norwegian Kelp Extract, generally used where it can double as a daytime moisturiser.
- Brightening Serum — the lighter, faster-absorbing treatment step in the pair; see the full iS Clinical Brightening Serum review for how it's formulated.
- Eclipse SPF 50+ — the mineral sunscreen that locks the routine in place; our iS Clinical Eclipse SPF 50+ review covers its Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide filter blend in full.
What's in it
Alpha-Arbutin appears across the brightening steps and is a well-studied ingredient that helps improve the appearance of uneven tone without the irritation profile of hydroquinone, which this collection is formulated without. iS Clinical pairs it with Kojic Acid, a fermentation-derived brightening ingredient, and Willow Bark Extract, a gentle botanical exfoliant also used in the range's Cleansing Complex to help lift dull, dead skin cells.
Norwegian Kelp Extract and Hyaluronic Acid are included for hydration and antioxidant support alongside the actives, so the routine isn't purely exfoliating. Eclipse SPF 50+ closes the kit out with mineral UV filters — iS Clinical's own Eclipse formula is built on Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide rather than chemical filters, which matters here: brightening actives and daily sunscreen work as a pair, and skipping SPF can undo the tone-evening work the rest of the kit is doing.
Who it's aimed at
iS Clinical positions this collection for hyperpigmentation, sun-related dark spots, melasma-type discolouration and post-inflammatory marks left behind after breakouts, across normal, combination, oily and sensitive skin. It suits someone who wants a complete brightening system without having to build one product-by-product, and who's happy to commit to using all four steps together for it to work as designed.
It's less suited to anyone only wanting one brightening step rather than a full routine, or skin that's currently compromised (actively broken out, freshly exfoliated, or recovering from a procedure) — introduce brightening acids gradually rather than starting a new four-step kit all at once. Patch-test first, and anyone with a diagnosed pigmentation condition such as melasma should check with a dermatologist before starting something new.
How to use it
- AM: Cleansing Complex, then Brightening Serum or Brightening Complex (not usually both at once), then Eclipse SPF 50+ as the final step, every day regardless of weather.
- PM: Cleansing Complex, then Brightening Serum or Brightening Complex to continue the brightening work overnight.
- New to Alpha-Arbutin or Kojic Acid-based brightening formulas? Introduce the kit gradually — every other day at first — rather than layering all four steps from day one.
- Keep SPF non-negotiable. It's the step that protects the results the other three are working towards.
Format and price
The Pure Radiance Collection sits at the premium end of iS Clinical's UK range, in line with buying four full-size, pharmaceutical-grade products as a set rather than individually. See the iS Clinical Pure Radiance Collection product page for current stock and pricing.
