What is Medik8 R-Retinoate Intense?

Rather than a serum layered under a separate moisturiser, it's a single rich night cream meant to be the last step of an evening routine, in a 50ml pump bottle sized for around three months' use.
Key ingredients
Retinyl Retinoate is Medik8's hybrid vitamin A derivative, encapsulated so it releases gradually into skin rather than all at once. Retinaldehyde (retinal) is a separate, closer-to-retinoic-acid form of vitamin A, included here via a crystal-stabilised delivery system. Combining an encapsulated derivative with a crystal-stabilised aldehyde in one formula is the genuine point of difference here — most vitamin A products use one active or the other, not both. As with any vitamin A ingredient, expect gradual, cumulative change rather than an overnight transformation.
