A rinse-off gel mask for skin that is dehydrated rather than dry — the distinction matters, because this formula contains no oils at all. It works instead by loading the skin with water and with the substances that hold water there: hydrolysed hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate, a set of natural moisturising factors including sodium PCA, sodium lactate, urea and trehalose, and Imperata cylindrica root extract, which AlumierMD select for long-lasting moisturisation. Five to ten minutes, then rinse. Suits all skin types, including oily skin that is dehydrated underneath.

How To Use

Application: After cleansing, apply a generous even layer to clean, dry skin, avoiding the eye area.

Frequency: One to three times a week, or whenever skin feels depleted

Timing: Morning or evening

Layering: Leave for five to ten minutes, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, pat dry, then continue with serum, moisturiser and SPF.

Expert Tip: Apply your serum onto skin still slightly damp from rinsing — the humectants have more water available to bind.

FAQ

My skin is oily. Why would I need a hydrating mask?

Because oily and dehydrated are different things — oil is lipid, dehydration is water, and skin can be short of one while producing plenty of the other. That is usually what is behind skin that feels tight after cleansing but shines by lunchtime. This mask is entirely oil-free, so it addresses the water side without adding anything that could congest.

How long should I leave it on?

Five to ten minutes. Longer does not add anything — once the humectants have drawn water up, the gel starts to dry and can begin pulling moisture back out. Rinse at ten minutes at the latest.

Can I use it on the same day as my retinoid or acid?

Yes. There are no acids, retinoids or essential oils in it, and it is a good recovery step when a stronger active has left skin feeling tight. Many people use it the evening after an exfoliating night.

Is it a replacement for my moisturiser?

No. It is a rinse-off treatment, so nothing stays on the skin to hold that hydration in place. Follow with your usual moisturiser — the mask makes the moisturiser more effective rather than substituting for it.

Will it help with redness?

It can. Sea whip extract and aloe are both included for their soothing properties, and the cool gel itself helps. It is not a treatment for a diagnosed inflammatory condition, but for skin that is simply irritated or over-treated it usually settles things down.

Is it suitable for very dry skin?

It will hydrate dry skin, but dryness is a lipid deficiency and there are no lipids here. If your skin is genuinely dry rather than dehydrated, use the mask as a weekly boost and pair it with a richer daily moisturiser such as HydraDew.
